Elise Gehosky is inspired by the obscure details of life, family dynamics, music, dreams, and her struggles with anxiety and isolation, to write poetry, personal essays and prose. She is currently working on publishing her work and has a few novels in progress.She has turned her many emotions, as well as the nature of reality, into art through allegorical elements. She blurs the line between illusion and reality. She writes about love, longing, heartbreak, desire, the complexities of human relationships, and all that make up the human condition. With inspiration from philosophy and the natural world, she aims to create a dreamy atmosphere built on experimental poetic and prose elements, revealing various aspects of society and the interconnectedness of all things.Another focus of her writing is on family and growing up around her grandparents, creating symbols to explain the passage of time, and reflecting on bittersweet moments that stand out from more important milestones.She also explores darker themes such as revenge, possession and the illusion of control.She finds inspiration through her dreams that uncover memories and trauma that come with the uniqueness and oftentimes struggles in relationships.Writing these through prose and memoir has branched out into fictional stories where she takes real- life experiences and turns them into their full capacity. This is a way to explore imaginary worlds further; a way to rewrite her story and direct people’s attention to the world around them- be mindful, present and look up!Every project is a product of moments with people in her life, expressed through different symbols, evolutionary processes and themes.
